What's so funny? This Tour Has People On It (mAY 2016)
A piece for BmoreArt about Baltimore's Wham City Comedy group. Comprised of members from the art & music collective that put Baltimore City back on the cultural map in 2008, Robby Rackleff, Ben O'Brien, and Alan Resnick took their Michael Haneke-meets-Mister Rogers brand of comedy to the stage for a national tour celebrating of their latest video for Adult Swim "This House Has People In It". I was there & I had thoughts.
An article written for Death and Taxes' blog while I was a simultaneously spearheading PR efforts at Troma Entertainment for their Kickstarter campaign to raise $50k in post-production funds for Return to Nuke 'Em High - Volume 2, their latest in-house release.
In ‘Blank Space,’ Taylor Swift rages like a bubblegum-pop Lorena Bobbitt (nOV. 2014)
A blog post written at the hype of Swift-mania. That's right, swinging 2014! This was a scene-by-scene analysis of Taylor Swift's music video for the single 'Blank Space'. My editor initially balked at the pitch due to Death And Taxes not typically covering such topics. After submitting my final draft however, they willingly made an exception. It is a tad dated yet still makes some good points & playful jabs at the songbird of our generation.
